From: Operating system: any PHP version: Irrelevant Package: Variables related Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description:differ is_float() from is_double()
Description: ------------ It would be nice to differ the behavior of is_float() from is_double(). This situation is not consistent cause float and double do differ for different byte size. I have created a PHP class to handle advanced read/write operations on files and I crashed onto this ambiguous situation. Thus I wrote myself a workaround to solve this ambiguous situation. Then I suggest that it would be nice to rely on this feature in the standard PHP library. Test script: --------------- It is known from PHP standard documentation that is_double() is an alias of is_float(). -- Edit bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=55464&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.4): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=trysnapshot54 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (trunk): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=needdocs Fixed in release: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=needscript Try newer version: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=oldversion Not developer issue: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=support Expected behavior: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=notwrong Not enough info: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=submittedtwice register_globals: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=php4 Daylight Savings: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=dst IIS Stability: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=gnused Floating point limitations: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=float No Zend Extensions: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=55464&r=mysqlcfg
