You really have bigger problems if you have to have register_globals=On
anyway, so please, don't overreact.

I see the reputation of PHP at stake here. If testing is not done
properly we cannot rely on using a new release in a production
environment.

This bug has been fixed in SVN.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
will be in the next snapshot. You can grab the snapshot at
http://snaps.php.net/.

It does not seem very clever to issue a warning which makes all tests 
(make test) fail (register_globals deprecated).
And what else will it break in production ?!
