From: sergey at lisergey dot net Operating system: FreeBSD PHP version: 5.2.11 PHP Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description: Save the POSIX RegExp functions - they're useful!
Description: ------------ I use posix regexp for log parsing and its extremely useful. If it would be deprecated, I'd have to rewrite alot of code. Yes, of course, I could call system() and use egrep, but it's weightier and unsafer way to get some sophisticated stings out of a huge log.
