Postdoc position in Computational Modelling for Psoriasis (School of Computing Science, Newcastle University, UK).
A postdoc position is available at Newcastle University in the PSORT project (http://www.psort.org.uk/) under the supervision of Dr. Paolo Zuliani. PSORT is funded by a £5m Medical Research Council (UK) grant, and is led by the University of Manchester, in collaboration with Newcastle University, King's College London, Queen Mary-University of London, University of Liverpool and University of Glasgow. We seek to better understand the determinants of response of psoriasis to biologic therapies, and we collaborate with our academic partners and industry to develop a clinical test to predict response and thereby rationalise and optimise patient care in a cost-effective manner. The main aim of this position is to build an agent-based computational model of psoriatic epidermis which will enable prediction of therapeutic efficacy. The work will involve significant interaction with the Dermatological and Skin Research Group, Institute of Cellular Medicine, led by Prof. Nick Reynolds.
