Hi Chris,

the test with telnet is only if the port is open.

I comment out the autosecondary option, i read it in the documentation as new 
option.

You're using MySQL replication as well as autosecondary? Seems like it
should be one or the other. Generally zones would be NATIVE if using
sql replication.

Telnetting to tcp 53 isn't a test of much of anything, you probably
should use the `dig` command, perhaps:

dig @<primary ip> example.com SOA
