Joseph, Tens of millions of internet users are served exclusively by the pdns recursor, so you'd think it would work! :-) One of the snags you may be hitting is that by default the powerdns recursor only listens to local addresses, and not to the world. So pay attention to the local-address and allow-from fields. Otherwise, please turn on --trace and --daemon=off and query your nameserver like this: dig www.powerdns.com @your-pdns-recursor-ip And show us the output of your recursor startup, and what dig said.
