Yer wot lad? Eeeeh, thee don't 'alf talk rubbish. Any road, dunno much
about all this Pentax lark - all I know is pidgins...

:-)

Pigeon racing aside, I'm still very much a Pentax dude. We have a pair of
black MXs, one retired on my desk with a 28mil 2.8 aboard. A sort of
touchy-feely paperweight. The other is officially used by Her Indoors and
resides in a smart black shoulder case that my son's Z-10 came in. Oddly
enough it was emblazoned with 'Canon' on the flap in a fancy red thread.
I'm much in favour of the low-profile look, so I soon stripped that off.

With the working MX in the bag sits a Tok 17 f3.5 (the old kind), a M 35
2.8, a M 50 1.7, and a Tok 90 2.5 macro. She loves the 35mm.

Stef's Z-10 has a pair of zooms (Pentax SMC-F 35-70 and cheapy Sigma
70-200) and is actually great fun to play with. The only lens I've kept
back from the kit I sold was the Tokina 28-70 2.6/2.8 which I can bung on
either the MX or Z-10 as a portrait backup combo.

So you see - I haven't deserted the fold just yet.

I've been doing some commissions recently - kid's portraits - with the
D60. In a word, FUN. Even though I'm sorted now, I can't wait for the
Pentax DSLR to erupt onto the stage, as quite a few people on this list
will get hold of it and it will knock their socks off. Having now seen
things from 'the other side', I can truly say that boy, oh boy, they sure
as heck won't know what's hit them.

At the end of the day, the gear is just a tool. Sure I like being
nostalgic about it, just like many here. I still have a yearning for the
LX and A*85 1.4 I let go of, much like an old girlfriend. But the
replacement is just as sexy and much quicker to please ;-)

BTW, keep up the great work - always a good read!

Now geet - go on! Geet! Where's me flippin' tea?

Cotsby
