Hi Bob, It's the weekend of May 30/June 1. I appreciate that you do not have the luxury of paid holiday - *if* I'm going, I may be travelling on the Tuesday preceding, returning either on the Sunday (late) or the Monday.
My only deciding factor is money. I have yet to cost it up, but will be doing so in the next week or two. I wish it was Ryanair non-stop, but that it ain't! Being a - you know - man of the world (nudge nudge wink wink), what are the travelling protocols to Charlotte? I presume a change in New York? Any idea of ticket price? I could be persuaded to travel out the Friday, back the Monday with you - perhaps we could share the cost of hire car? Of course, I'd have my Bird Of Prey in orbit beam us up and straight there, but I cannot allow pataks on my ship... Cot >that would be fun. When is it? If I flew out on a Friday and back on >the Monday I would only miss 2 days work (= 2 days pay, >unfortunately). It's possible, but less than 50% likely because I >pretty much have things mapped out for next year as far as time off is >concerned. I was having this conversation with a friend last night, in >fact. My initial time-off plan for next year, by listing the things I >want to do, had me off for 54 weeks of the year. Unfortunately I have >to scale back a little, or win the lottery, so that I actually get some >income... The joys of freelance work and no paid holiday. > >But - it depends on when it takes place. NC is quite interesting. I >was only there for a week, but managed to get up to the Blue Ridge >Mountains (I think) for a day's walking one day, saw some hill-billies >in log cabins, a covered bridge, an old British fort which the >Cherokee had kindly rearranged. Would like to have seen the coast and >the area around Roanoke. People drive very slowly there. ____________________________________ Free UK Macintosh Classified Ads at http://www.macads.co.uk/ ____________________________________ Oh, swipe me!
