It's a bit expensive but I picked up a Panatone Photocal monitor Spyder, for monitor calibration, a while ago, after using one at a workshop. This produces a monitor color calibration profile that helps provide consistent, accurate color displays. Check it out @ http://www.pantone.com/products/products.asp?idArticle=311&idArea=13
