Brendan buddy you speak ill of the Mac, yet you have not used one. No matter
what anyone says Macs are superior to PCs. I own both, I have used both and
I'm sorry but I can honestly say that PCs are still a long way from a MAC.
That's not to say that PCs are not useful, capable machines. Someone who
knows computers, does not mind spending a lot of time learning programs, and
who does not mind taking their computers in to the shop to have operating
systems restored get along great with their PCs. Yes, they are a little
cheaper. A Chevy Cavalier is cheaper than a Subaru Outback but one will get
you where you want to go and the other will leave you at the side of the road
praying for a toe truck. Pay the extra and get the Subbie, or should I say
Mac. (I also love Subarus.)
But for the rest of us Macs are much more intuitive machines. I'll grant you
that as soon as Microsoft stole the Mac interface they became a more useable
and friendly machine, but they still have a ways to go to catch the Mac
interface.
I work at a large daily newspaper in Canada. Everyone involved in anything to
do with graphics (the whole editorial department and advertising depts) use
Macs. The business department uses PCs, that's about it. Most major
newspapers, magazines and graphic production houses use Macs. That's got to
say something.
