We have a trip coming up later this year that will include a few stops in the northwestern Med, southern France. In preparation I have been looking through some photos I took on our previous visit to that area, September 2019. In the small town of Villefranche Sur Mer, adjacent to Nice, Meg and I had wandered through the old citadel on the harbor. Along with a museum, a small town administrative center was tucked away accessible from a courtyard. On the doorway, leading to a pleasant-looking lobby, was this sign… I can only imagine how many anglophone tourists they had had to put up with.
