I’m taking a photo course at the Fleisher Art Memorial titled “The Urban Vernacular.” We five students and the instructor took a 3-hour walk through Fairmount, a Philadelphia neighborhood just north of Center City. The oldest buildings, a mixture of commercial and residential, date from the early 1800s.
We were assigned to select five pics from the shoot, and next week we’ll have a classroom session to view and critique each others’ work.
