You could google for "dark sky maps" to find out where there might be a place with the least amount of light pollution near you.

Ok thanks, so no stacking. Never managed to capture the milky way due to
(probably) light pollution. Should give it another try.

Spectacular!

Thank you.

You probably explained earlier how you have done that.
Astrotracer? Stacking?

My basic process:

K-1 with my Rokinon 24/1.4 set up vertically on my tripod.

Use live view to manually focus on a bright object at infinity.

Astrotracer at 20 seconds, f/1.4 ISO 6400
Astrotracer will make the foreground a bit blurry. I think that sometimes
I will try to photograph below the horizon without using astrotracer then
above the horizon using it.

Several horizontal panoramas trying to overlap about 1/3 frame in both
dimensions.

Do some selections of which ones to use in lightroom

Process as a panorama

Do some work using the clone/healing brush
(the Rokinon is supposed to be very good with coma, I may not have good
copy)

Do a lot of work with the masking brush on the sky, bringing up the
waterfall etc.

For the curious an album with various different treatments:
