I read "headed off to Chicago" and all I could think of was to tell you
to go to the original Pizzaria Uno for me. :-) .. I forgot to look at
the photo!
which I love and think I've seen before... I came back "here" after
reading Juan's post and his comment on the photo

Nicely done, Juan! Beautiful photos, as always, too! :D
I have many, many photos made with small sensor cameras. When I shoot with
them, I think of shooting with my Minox 8x11 film cameras: so much DoF that you
don't think about it, the lens is always wide open at f/3.5 (or f/5.6 in the
case of the EC)..

You frame and expose based on the whole scene, not just the primary subject. It's a
different mindset from the "ultra-shallow DoF" look that seems so popular in
recent years.
Hmm. I'm headed off to Chicago for four days to conduct some business. I was
debating on what camera to take along … don't want to carry much. Now I think
I'll just load up a Minox and slip that into my pocket. Thanks!

These cameras have become basically unnecessary given that we have things
like the GR with an APS-C sensor (and the 16MP GR2 is one of my favorite
cameras of all time). But I really think there's something about the images
coming out of 1/1.7" or so sensors at around 12MP that compares well with
grainy 35mm black and white film.
