With the possible exception of the K-7. I picked up the low end K-x and in anything darker than studio light its image quality blew away my K20. The K-5 gave me “good enough” image quality that for the vast majority of photography I’d never need to upgrade. BTW, have you read the “Blackthorn Key” books by Kevin Sands? Nominally for a young audience they’re about an apothecary apprentice in 1665 London.
