MIke = maybe 650 is really 6500 - that is, typo in the list of attributes..
however, would the lower lumens mean lower heat? You can tell I'm
terribly ignorant abut this stuff..
I wonder if there is a youtube tutorial on gerry-rigging the projector
to use an LED bulb as you suggested

650lumens is quite low. A 50W LED array produces 3000. That would be too
bright and too large. A 10W array is under an inch in diameter and runs off
2-6V. Add a four AA battery holder, some wire and a tube of epoxy adhesive and
Bob's a poverty-stricken Lancastrian. A bit more cost than a single bulb but
likely to be available for longer. Pity you're not closer.

Do you have a photo/description of the old bulb? Shouldn't be too hard to make a bespoke
LED replacement. Probably cheaper than a "vintage" lamp as well.

The old bulb finially died.. I ordered another..I'm needing more and
more to do a quick view of slides blown up but the 300W bulbs are
killers in so many ways..
Has someone been able to replace it with an LED or CFL ? OR is there a
projector for 35mm slides made that uses a LED bulb.. Doesn't need to
project slides
to anything larger than a yard across.
Ideas?
