Never mind. Still a very interesting gallery, Dave. They built a barrage
on the Olifants River (with waterworks) in the 1950's to supply water
for the mines & Phalaborwa town. Unfortunately the Tiger Fish
(hydrocynus vittatus) was then cut off from the upper reaches of the
river.Ever since they have mulled over the idea of a ladder but it will
probably never happen.

Attention, the gallery contains dead, rotting salmon, this may not be for
the faint of heart.
Wednesday a small group from our club went to the Bowmanville river fish
ladder an hour outside of Toronto to see if we could get photos of salmon
and or trout using the ladder. Sadly we missed it by a week as the locals
told us. But we did manage to get some end of fall photos. Bowmanville
creek runs into Lake Ontario.
