That just doesn't sit well with my upbringing. I grew up with "Use it, repair
it, reuse it and keep on using it until it can't be repaired any more."
*THEN*, if you still need it, buy a replacement (and by that time, you can
probably find a bargain on a good used one).
That model is as dead as musicians being able to play instruments and singers
able to hit a note without autotune.
That's a bit more cynical than you have to be, I personally know some musicians
who can actually play their instruments, and singers who can carry a tune with
or without a bucket.
