You don't have to use any of the cloud features - I only use it for viewing and printing local PDF files. I've got Acrobat DC installed because it's the best PDF verifier I know of. But that's because I quite often generate my own PDF files, and if Acrobat reads one without problems then I'm reasonably sure I'm creating valid PDF.
