Connecticut had a number of thriving photo shops. A lot started during
the SLR boom of the '70's almost all of them quietly folded up pretty
much after that ended. A lot of the old timers, shops that had been
existence since the 1950's, or earlier, have been slowly closing up as
well. It doesn't surprise me, I don't know why anyone else is surprised
either. In capitalism companies either adapt or die.
MIdtown Photo which had been around since the early 1960's and one of
the last full service camera stores that actually carried Pentax in
Connecticut, closed up about 10 years ago and was replaced with a mobile
phone store.
Just what America needs more mobile phone stores.
