That's actually been diagnosed by the "internet", apparently there's a low power capacitor that Yongnuo has cheaped on that needs to be replaced. That keeps the tube from firing when everything else functions properly. It's a DYI thing as Yongnuo doesn't seem to acknowledge the problem, in fact doesn't seem to recognize that customer relations beyond rock bottom prices matter in commerce. I guess that business model works for them.

Here's a video on replacing it, in Hebrew unfortunately, as I don't speak Hebrew.

I wish the hell that people would still publish stuff like this on a web page with photos... Videos are a pain for DIY projects.

I've had mixed luck with a pair of younguos, not this version but more

fresh pair of batteries does not fix it. sporadic failures.

I don't know if anyone else is interested in this. I don't use Flash very
often so a bargain P-TTL flash looks very attractive.

Yongnuo has gotten a little further in their quest to capture some of
Pentaxian lucre. More specifications hinted at and pictures of the product.
They do seem to be following in Pentax's foot steps in not getting a new
product out to take advantage of the major buying season of the year...
