Weather forecast around here ain't good - partly to mostly cloudy, but
I've got a good spot with a low horizon to the southwest, so I intend to
get out there and try. If I get lucky, maybe there will be a break in
the clouds when I need it.

Don't know what the forecast is like in the central & western U.S., but
those of you out there, now know about it if you want to make the attempt.

I had to run an errand after posting this & the weather forecast for
tonight was Clear & Cold. Since tomorrow night is supposed to be mostly
cloudy, I headed out to the spot I'd picked out to take photos of the
crescent moon tonight, hoping I might catch the comet in the field of view.

I just got home a few minutes ago & haven't had time yet to download the
images I did get to have a look at them on the big monitor.

I didn't see the comet & don't think I managed to capture it in any of
the photos, but the trial run helped because I figured out a 300mm lens
isn't going to have a wide enough field of view to capture it.

I'll try again tomorrow night with an 80-200 f/2.8 zoom.
