How big does he want to print it? You need an actual size (in inches
or centimeters) to know how big the image dimensions should be.

Start by changing the resolution to 300ppi (without resampling), which
is pretty much the standard for printable images.

Then take the desired dimension – say, 10 inches – and multiply it by
300 to get the appropriate image size (3000 pixels in this example).
Re-size the image (with resampling on) to 3000 pixels and that should
do it.
