What he said. My old Manfrotto/Bogen 190 continues to go strong after 
25 years, and my Manfrotto carbon fibre (don't recall the model number) 
is solid enough to support my 645 and tough enough for astrophotography 
in sub-zero (Farenheit) temperatures.
