Funny, I keep thinking that Ricoh should take a page from Canon and
Nikon. Now that they have a FF, go back and revisit the K-5, and build
a K-5III same body and controls, 20MP BSI chip, Higher burst rate, (gasp
maybe even faster than 10fps)*, bigger buffer, (more than 40 raw), with
faster data bus, (even the K-3 doesn't take full advantage of Class 10
SD cards), the AF module from the K-1, the image processing algorithms
from the K-3. Leave the OVF pretty much alone. It would be a poor mans
D500. Maybe throw in a second card slot. Second best option do the
same thing in the K-3 body. Would they sell a lot of them, I don't know
but I'd buy it.
*Not that I need it for my shooting, but hell, why not.

The K-5IIs has different buttons, a different UI, the sensor is

I'm in the middle of the long slow job of processing the photos. But,
I've noticed a few things. First of all, in full frame mode, the K-3
is just too slow for "rapid fire". In crop mode, it is noticeably
slower than the k-3, but definitely fast enough. However, when the
action really heats up (like in randori where several people are
simultaneously attacking one person), even in crop mode, the buffer on

On the flip side, even in crop mode, the photos are a LOT cleaner than
the images from the k-3. I wish it were possible for me to just buy
some larger ram chips and solder them in and the K-1 would be the best
Pentax crop sensor camera by far.
I find myself wishing that they come out with a new top of the APS
line which is basically a K-1 with an APS version of the ff sensor,
and a bigger buffer, with all of the buttons and other UI just the
same so that my fingers don't get confused swapping between the two
cameras.
