Shots taken in my garden over the last two days using a macro lens augmented with an extension tube.
https://goo.gl/tqNvzT Seen in order: - pink phlox - Japanese anemone buds - emerging flowers of a Hosta - turtlehead - ripening tomato The DFA 645 90mm 2.8 macro is a fabulous lens, but doesn't allow close enough focussing for the really small stuff. So I ordered a set of used extension tubes (Pentax Auto Extension Tube-A 645) from a dude in Japan and received them quite quickly, on Thursday. After some quick tests I figured the best way to test these out properly was to train them on some plant life. The extension tubes were created well before the Z and so only some features function. There's no AF, but the aperture works. All shots taken with the 645z, DFA 90mm 2.8 macro. Most are at f:4.0, 800 ISO, but the tomato is at f:16, and the turtleheads are at f:8.0. All shots lit by filtered sunlight. Turtleheads and tomato I diffused with a 5-in-1 reflector silk because full sun. I also added a small gold reflector to the tomato to warm that up and add fill. [I haven't used Google Plus for some time and needed a place to stash this gallery, so I gave it a try again. Let me know if this fails to work for you.] -- -bmw -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
