Really depends on the class, Mark. If I were teaching photography I'd concentrate on "seeing" (composition, creativity, etc.) and just require one thing: that it be available. I'd be okay with smartphones (though I hate 'em).
Were I teaching a course with studio shooting I'd require your list plus being sure the camera can accept a trigger. I'd also need to stipulate lenses that would work in the studio space (like 24-70 FF equivalent).
