Well, that is good enough reason to keep it and even better on a K-1. I
also have a DA14/2.8. That is the widest and fastest I have. Astronomy
is another of my latent hobbies and these wide field views are so
impressive.

I didn't think about it until just now, but it would be interesting to
see how the pixel shift mode works for night photography, giving you
effectively 3-4 times the exposure, and possibly averaging out some of
the noise.
The FA 24/2 that you are selling would probably be a pretty good lens
for doing this sort of work with.
