IR releases are sometimes unpredictable in bright sunlight. RF (WiFi and otherwise) releases have more range and are less effected by ambient conditions, but do require power. Mechanical cable release can impart a small amount of vibration to the camera and can be sticky in operation.
Most wired remote releases are passive, can be used for long delays without incurring battery drain, and transmit minimal to no vibration to the camera. > On Feb 22, 2016, at 10:36 AM, Ken Waller <[email protected]> wrote: > > What's wrong with using an infra red remote release? -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
