Hi, Darren!
I woke up to the fact that I failed to respond to all of your appreciated
critique comments.
To tell you the truth, I was surprised to see only a smattering of red blinkies
on this final
image. Actually there was the slimmest line on the right histogram boarder and
in checking the image, I found
a small number of red smatterings, all of which were in the clouds. A bit far
right, a slightly larger few drops
in the center area and some small speckles on the left. I found more than
enough detail in the clouds to please me.
I'll confirm again here that the #2 image is a thin shadow darker.
You've nudged me back from trusting an old person's instinctive sense to one of
actually utilizing the available technology.
Your kind remarks were much appreciated.

Jack

I can't detect any difference between the two (open in side-by-side
browser tabs). The only thing that changes (besides the URL) is the
title. One has a space between the words and the other doesn't.

That is a VERY striking image, Jack. My only comment would be to look
at the histogram of the original file and see if the peaks run off the
right side (blown-out highlights). If there is detail there, I would
preserve it. It would make a very good image into a great one, IMHO. I
like to have the histogram turned on in my Preview image so I can see
it right when I chimp the shot. Pentax is thoughtful to also have the
ability to turn on the "blinkies" on your LCD to show over-exposed
pixels, which can be handy if you don't want to mess with the
histogram.
