Very sharp at the 300 mm end even wide open. Good color and contrast with little or no CA. Jack had this to say about the older non HD WR lens:- Hi, Bipin! PopPhoto did a subjective test on both the DA* 300 prime and DA 55-300 soon after they came out. The 55-300 absolutely blew away the prime.
