The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche, to Berliners) was built
in the 1890s, and virtually destroyed in a bombing raid in 1943. It was rebuilt
in the early 1960s, preserving the damaged original tower as a reminder against
war.

There is a very moving exhibit on the ground floor of the tower, and the new
sanctuary is gorgeous inside--well worth a visit.
