I have the WG-3. Not much experience with it, a few hundred shots over the last 11 months. Seems robust, reliable, not too far different from other Pentax cameras WRT menu structure etc. I don't like the ergonomics of any camera or phone that requires a shutter push while holding the imager at arms length in both hands, I try to avoid using such machines, but the WG-3 is ok as a carry along pocket camera. I don't think IQ can be an issue, given the ergonomics, unless you are using a tripod which I haven't with this sort of camera.
