The P-3 is a military version of the Lockheed Electra, which was in commercial passenger service in the late 1950s-'60's. Their popularity suffered when harmonic vibrations caused the wings to fall off a few of them.
So, they're rather long in the tooth, and parts are a problem. They're being replaced with a modified 737 (designated P-8).
