At each "node", there are permanent magnets that are "semi-loose":
they are fixed in place, but they are at a unstable equilibrium.
Once they receive an impact, they move, pushing the next ball, which
goes to the next magnet, etc.

I've never done it, but frequently heard about this recipe:
With LN2, you can freeze vodka to the consistency of a jello, and then
you can spread it on a slice of bread (use a dark rye bread for this).
