Yep, what Bruce said. The manual option is still and excellent tool, and it's still around in Lightroom 5. With LR 5 you'll get the option to do a bit of automatic work (which I think is very good) and manual tweaking. Try it. What's great about LR is you can experiment away, then with one quick click, you can reset the photo back to it's original state.
