Yes - it's a separate gallery so you can submit to both the theme and
the open gallery.
I put it in the program because the monthly Open Gallery has been
discontinued this year (there were very few submissions). It probably
would have been less confusing if I'd just made 'Open Gallery' one of
the normal 12 galleries for the year.
What's the deadline for it?
Probably about 20 July. Once the themed gallery is finalised I'll
send a 'nag' post to the list about the extra gallery - but feel free
to submit any time. Some already have.

The main requirements are:
* Max. pixel dimensions: 800 x 800 pixels
* Max file size: 300k
* Third party equipment is acceptable provided either the camera body or
lens used is Pentax.
* If you embed a colour space in the image, it should be sRGB to ensure that
the image is displayed correctly on line.
