The manual for that flash says it was only tested with the K10D and earlier bodies. Eg: get an action shot of every competitor in action? Get posed mugshots of everybody? Wander around and get general Facebook shots of the crowd? If it's posed shots, for example, then you could setup a little backdrop set, everything on manual and pre-exposed.
