The reason I shot downward is that I quite consciously wanted to get her phone, pen and gloves in the photo along with the newspaper.
Other than the fact that she's a very attractive young lady, this was a bike messenger shot. She's standing by, reading the paper to kill time. We no longer use two-way radios (the Motorola "bricks" were ubiquitous) and pagers; everything is dispatched through smartphones these days. Pens and ( in this cooler weather) gloves are part of our equipment. Mailrooms are where we hang out when it gets cold (see the mail bins in the background?). A slice of messenger life... Oh yeah. The other reason I took the photo from that angle: I was standing and she was sitting. ;-) Thanks for the comment! And thanks to all who looked!
