Subject: OT - Wide lens used by CNN studio camera

Tonight, a few times I saw CNN on TV, the guy was staying toward the
side of the screen, while a banner/projection screen was in the middle
of the screen.
What's interesting is how much of the barrel (?) distortion that is
typical for the wide lenses (zooms) was seen.
I think, it is the first time I am seeing this much of the barrel
distortion on TV.

I wonder why it was happening and why I had not seen it before?
Was it only because the guy was staying that much off center,
or was there something else different (e.g. much wider lens/zoom
position was used)?

Did anybody else on this list notice this?

Igor
