Well, I'm not a huge fan of the single leaf shot lying wistfully next to a 
sewer cap. :-)  Doug Brewer and I have a running joke about this on google 
+--that is, when he's in a teasing mood, he'll sometimes post a single leaf 
shot just to make me groan.  It's all in good fun.

But funny thing about this--while in Chicago for the exhibition, a bunch of us 
met up at Miller's pub on the last afternoon together.  I was telling Doug how 
single leaf shots did nothing for me, but then I told him about an article in 
the New York Times, published a few years back, which made the claim that the 
first photograph ever taken was, in fact, a shot of a single leaf!  I had to 
admit I got a big laugh out of that and had to consider there must be something 
about the single leaf that intrigues people and, perhaps, I'm missing 
something.  The article included the image as well.   I'm sure if you googled 
it, you could find the article.
