But it's a lot cheaper than a car, cleaner, easier to maintain, keeps me fit and will last a whole lot longer (barring accidents and theft). I bought my current bike 16-17 years ago for £400- and have probably spent about the same amount, maybe a bit more, on maintenance and renovation in that time.
