To all: For years, I've been using a Pentax 50mm 1:2 coupled to a Vivitar 2x macro focusing teleconverter for detailed close-up photography of broken gear, aluminum castings and serial number documentation. Results have been pretty good so far.
Any suggestions for improvement? I have seen a lot of discussion regarding longer lenses, i.e.: 70, 85 and 105 mm, but don't understand the advantages, if any. Any help?
