hi,

if you look at the photos starting with cleveland-6pm at this link

http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~nitin/tmp

the sky is deep blue but its grainy. I was told this is because of
underexposure of the sky. I didnt do any exp compensation IIRR or
overexposed. The camera has center-weighter metering and the focus
region is on the tower so even the meter would be on the overexposure
side for the skies.

So what is causing this or am i wrong in assuming that the sky would
need shorter exposure time than the tower for correct exposure ?

thanks,
nitin
