In the words of Lieutenant The Hon. George Colthurst St Barleigh*, "Well, bugger me with a fish fork."
I've visited http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html several times and played about with different camera/lens/distance aperture combinations, and come to a conclusion much the same a Matthew, that the 1/3 DOF in front, 2/3 DOF behind guideline is disinformation, to be polite. Shame on the books and teachers who told it to me, and I'll cease to repeat it immediately. regards, Anthony "Of what use is lens and light to those who lack in mind and sight" (Anon) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
