Hi John: There are no technical terms to specifically denote what
you describe below. The description you give below will do just fine
in explaining your situation so that you get your money back. Just
cut & paste what you wrote here in your email to the bookseller.
Also, double check the book condition description. Clearly this book
is NOT in mint--very good--good--or--bargain condition. There are
two possibilities here--either the bookseller didn't do a good job in
examining the condition and pagination of the book and made a
mistake. Or the bookseller is attempting to pull a fast one. In
either case, insist on your money back. No reputable bookseller
would sell a book like this, but unfortunately there are a lot of
disreputable booksellers out there. HTH. Cheers, Christine

The physical condition of the book matches the sellers description:

>: Very Good in Good jacket 4to-over 9¾"-12" tall. Some sun-fading to
>: dust-jacket spine area and near back top edge. Mild scuffing to
>: jacket edges, with a few small closed tears mostly to top edge.
>: Cover boards and interior otherwise very clean with sound binding.
>: B/W photographs throughout by photographers working in the
>: historical section of the Farm Security Administration during the
>: Great Depression. Mylar plastic covers dj. 196 pp.

It was carefully packed in a cardboard box, protected from external damage by foam-core sheets & foam rubber inserts at the edges, with the book itself inside a plastic bag within the packaging.

I think the bookseller just missed the problem with the shuffled & missing pages.

I certainly didn't notice any problem when I quickly thumbed through it upon opening the package. I only noticed the problem when I actually sat down to start reading the book this evening.

I'm really bummed by this. I don't want a refund, I want a good quality, readable copy of this book.
