I was in my second year of medical school in Rochester, NY, and working two evenings a week and one weekend a month answering the phone at a large group medical practice on the north end of the city. My then-girlfriend, now-wife was in her senior year at the U of R. All of my other recreational interests (particularly choral singing and photography) were in suspended animation.
