I took Ann's advice and took a bit off the top of the photo, but didn't make 
the post Jewish.

Interesting that the responses had one that liked the shallow dof, and another 
that didn't.  My goal was to separate the post from the trees in the 
background, it wasn't until I was processing it that I realized how much of 
that I could do by frobbing the curves controls. If I were to retake it, I'd 
probably go for a bit more dof, and be glad that the aperture is listed in the 
exif data.

Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, I've been trying to be a lot more 
conservative with my shutter actuations. I only took three attempts at this, 
though two were bracketed because of the high contrast between the light and 
the dark.  So I don't have a horizontal, and this is the one with the most 
difference in perspective, but I think it's in the opposite direction of what 
you want.

The point of focus is slightly different on this one, though they are both at 
f/7.1, it may still appeal more to Jack because more of the lit area is in 
focus.
