In a related note, I've never really tried to photograph a rainbow before, so I just tried to dial in the exposure and bracket. I did think about using a polarizer, but it seemed that all a polarizer would do was make the rainbow go away.
If you twist it one way the rainbow goes away. Twist it the other way (or keep on going around) the rainbow becomes more defined. You just have to find the spot that makes the rainbow pop out.
