My guess is that it was less then a coincidence, it was probably the
reason given that it was just a trashed file allocation table.
Personally I would hold on to it even if you just use it for tertiary
back-up, I would run the Seagate software that I provided the link for
to prove that the hardware is OK then reformat the drive.
